Style Inspiration: Daphne Guinness

Stunningly beautiful, eccentric, intelligent, super stylish-Daphne Guinness is arguably one of the most dramatic fashion figures of our time. It's always exciting to observe a true original, someone who pushes the fashion boundaries and creates a perfectly unique look, which Daphne manages magnificently in her couture creations, armor like jewellery and two-toned coiffed hair.

Basic Black in Hollywood: Kim and Kourtney Kardarshian

Guilty pleasure: watching Keeping up with the Kardashians. The antics on the show aside, the girls often do great day looks. I like Kim and Kourtney's neutral outfits, bold jewelery and gorgeous handbags.

New Buy

Bought some jewellery in Forever New over the weekend. I went back for the feather earrings, I didn't buy them the first time due to their size (they reach past my collar bone), but it was a fun pair and they didn't cost a lot, so I finally thought why not? The other pair I saw and instantly liked, while the set of rings was an impulse buy- not my usual style, but like the concept of stacked rings.

All jewelry: Forever New

Books on Fashion

Despite the plethora of fashion related information and images available online, I cannot resist a good, glossy fashion book! My bookshelf is lined with these colorful books which have decent content, gorgeous images and sometimes striking book covers- my favorite one being Caroline Cox's "how to be Adored", with its fuchsia color and velvet embossed flowers.

Ultimate Style Icon: Jacqueline Kennedy

My introduction to the world of fashion and style was at age 11, when my mother gave me a magazine cutout of Jackie Kennedy. I was instantly mesmerized by her radiant elegance and poise, not to mention her amazing style. From that day I collected every bit of information I could about her, and even today I check the biography and fashion sections of any bookstore I walk into, to see if they have something new on her that I haven't already bought or read. Its not just her sartorial choices, but her elegance, grace and intelligence which combine to make her one of the most iconic women in fashion and my personal fashion inspiration. All her fashion choices were made to convey an image of who she was, the clothes and accessories were not trendy but figure flattering and suited to her personality; a great lesson in using fashion to express who you are while staying true to yourself.

Basic Black in Hollywood: The Olsen Twins

Layering, contrasting textures and bold accessories- the best way to do all black/ neutral looks. The twins demonstrate how to transform basic looks from sporty to grunge, from punk to elegant with a change in hair, makeup and accessories. I also love their creations for The Row ( www.therow.com), especially the gorgeous handbags.

New Buy

I have been looking for a white blazer for quite a while now, but all the ones I tried looked a little too severe and stark. I love this blazer from Zara- it works well with my mostly monotone wardrobe and the black collar (and cuffs, with the sleeves rolled up) with the zippered pockets add a little something, making the jacket more interesting.

Outfit Post

I recently bought two denim shirts which are both lightweight, so I can wear them in warmer weather too. This cropped shirt from Bershka is a good layering piece. All the other clothes and accessories pictured are older- well worn and well loved pieces.
